🐑 Chris is a hogget or lamb fleece. She has very fine, soft wool. Hogget fleece is the first shearing from a lamb. On any lamb fleece, you need to pull the very tip off the lock. There is a soft spot near the tip that will come off easily during processing. You should remove it prior to carding, otherwise, it will create nepps in your yarn.
CVM/Romeldale is one of the finest grade wool breeds in the SE2SE list. If you like Merino, you will LOVE 💖💖💖Romeldale/CVM
🧴This is a Raw, un-washed fleece ready for you to scour. I washed a sample in Unicorn Power Scour and the lanolin came out easily, leaving a bright gray to white fleece.
🧶Romeldale is a pleasure to spin. You can also use this wool for wet felting, needle felting, and other arts and crafts.
CVM: California Variegated Mutant Both the CVM and the Romeldale are unique to the United States and are endangered. This is considered fine wool with an average of 21–25 microns.
